Softball Camps/Clinics

Under the direction of head coach Van Zanic, the Geneva College softball program has successfully made it to the post-season 21 out of 23 total seasons. Since beginning competition in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference in 2012, the Golden Tornadoes have advanced to the conference tournament nine times, including a pair of PAC titles, most recently in 2021. Last year, Geneva finished fourth at the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association World Series and ended the season with a record of 30-20, reaching 30 wins in a season for the sixth time in program history.

With that, the Golden Tornadoes softball team and coaching staff invite you to our summer clinics to join in on a fun, skill development-oriented clinic. The current student-athletes and staff will work to develop your skills especially in a way that will help you grow as a softball player.

Details: 

• Registration – Day 1 at 1:00 pm
• Campers will be staying in the Geneva College Residence Halls.
• Camp will offer Dinner on the 14th and Breakfast on the 15th will be included – Clinic T-Shirt
• Geneva College Admissions Visit – July 14 – 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm
  • Includes Campus Tour, Academic Program and Financial Aid Information
  • Overview of the Geneva College Softball Program – Parents are welcome to stay for the Admissions Visit Portion
• Softball Clinic – July 14 & 15 – 3 Sessions – 5:30pm – 8:30pm, 9:30pm – 12:00am,  8:30am – 11:30am
• Clinic Concludes Day 2 at Noon

We will provide housing according to the Geneva policies. All athletes will be provided multiple occupancy housing in the Geneva residence halls. There will be no additional fee for the housing.

This clinic will be run in a collegiate practice setting that shows the prospective student-athletes how Geneva’s softball program is run.  It will provide many one-on-one skill development opportunities with the current coaching staff for the Golden Tornadoes. All aspects of the game of softball will be covered, including offense, defense, base-running, softball intelligence and mental toughness. This unique opportunity also provides prospective student-athletes with an opportunity to spend time in the residence halls with current athletes from Geneva’s softball team. 

Take part in real college drills and participate in a true collegiate practice setting, in addition to playing scrimmage games with top quality players from across the region.
