Event Description

Dickinson College BASEBALL CAMPS

PROSPECT Camp

The Dickinson College Baseball Prospect Camp will give prospective student athletes the opportunity to learn and to receive an assessment from the Dickinson College Baseball Staff. The Dickinson College Baseball Prospect Camp is open to both position players and pitchers. This is a great opportunity to visit the college, work with the baseball coaching staff and players, receive a detailed evaluation, and enjoy a great baseball experience!

Camp Format

The camp will start at MacPhail Field with an introduction of all baseball coaching staff members including Head Coach Craig Hanson and players while going through our program’s standards for the day. Baseball activity will begin with a dynamic warm-up under the leadership of Dickinson College Strength and Conditioning Coach Mike Myers. Following the dynamic stretch, all players will go through the throwing program our baseball program follows, an on-field pro-style defensive showcase, and receive instruction in the 60-yard dash and 10-yard dash.

Once on-field defense and metric testing is complete, the camp will split into two groups with one group playing a game on MacPhail Field and another group entering the Hare Indoor Training Center. On MacPhail Field, campers will be organized into a game with the opportunity to compete and to demonstrate their skill set to the coaching staff.

In the Hare Indoor Training Center, campers will get a tour of the facility, which includes the locker room and indoor training space. Following the tour, Coach Myers will provide strength and conditioning education for all campers covering what our baseball players do in the weight room month by month, in-season and out of season, and how it translates to on-field performance. Then, to prepare for their game, campers will complete a hitting circuit while having access to using Driveline Training Bats, Hack Attack Pitching Machines, and Hit Trax Technology. Starting pitchers for the next game will get the chance to prepare for the game in the Hare Center, as well. Once the game on the field concludes, the two groups will switch.

Once both games conclude on the field, campers will play one last machine pitch game on the field. This game will combine both groups of the camp once again and be a fast-paced game allowing players to demonstrate their abilities at the plate and in the field while showing their baseball IQ both defensively and base running.

Camp will conclude with a wrap up from Head Coach Craig Hanson and Assistant Coach/Pitching Coach Kraigen Rasalla.
