The GVSU Baseball Program
The Grand Valley State University baseball program has firmly established itself as one of the premier programs in NCAA Division II. The Lakers continued their tradition of excellence
in 2026, finishing with a 48-10 record while capturing the GLIAC Regular Season Championship, GLIAC Tournament Championship, and NCAA Midwest Regional No. 1 Championship before advancing to the NCAA Super Regional.

In 2025, GVSU posted a 43-14 overall record and earned the opportunity to host the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament, advancing to the regional semifinals. The Lakers also claimed the GLIAC Tournament Championship in 2024 and made an NCAA Division II Regional appearance.

Grand Valley's success extends over multiple decades. The Lakers were GLIAC Co- Champions in 2016, while the 2013 squad captured the GLIAC Championship and finished third at the NCAA Division II College World Series. The 2012 team won both the GLIAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships and advanced to the NCAA Regional semifinals.

In 2011, GVSU won the GLIAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division II World Series, finishing the season with an impressive 52-5 record while spending much of the year ranked No. 1 nationally. The Lakers were also ranked No. 1 in the nation for several weeks in 2009 and reached as high as No. 3 in the national rankings during both the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

Since 2003, Grand Valley State has captured 10 GLIAC Championships and appeared in 10 NCAA Regional Championship games, winning six regional titles. Those victories propelled the Lakers to six NCAA Division II World Series appearances, where they recorded national finishes of second place (2004), fourth place (2005), fifth place (2003), seventh place (2009
and 2011), and third place (2013).

With a consistent record of conference championships, regional success, national rankings, and World Series appearances, Grand Valley State has established itself as one of the most successful and respected baseball programs in NCAA Division II.
