Georgetown University Residential Soccer Camp
Blue Session

From the Touchline

Our goal at the Georgetown University Residential Soccer Camp is to provide a fun and competitive environment for each player to develop their technical skills and to apply those skills to game situations. We believe that the game is the best teacher, so campers are exposed to small- and full-sided games every day. We hope that each camper will leave camp having learned new skills and how to apply those skills in exciting and challenging game situations. The Georgetown University Residential Soccer Camp will provide excellent facilities and a highly capable and enthusiastic staff. Competing against highly talented players from around the country will provide the campers an ideal environment to showcase their talents.

Date: July 8-11, 2014
Grade: Entering 10th-12th
Cost: $650 per camper

The Program

This camp is designed to attract top-level Club, ODP, and high school players interested in playing Division I soccer. The camp will feature highly qualified coaches who have experience in every level of collegiate soccer. Our coaches will provide exceptional training to help prepare our campers for college soccer. The camp will be capped at 106 players to ensure personalized attention. Every player will be exposed to tactical training in an 11v11 format each day. They will be immersed in the attacking and defending concepts used in our own Georgetown system. In addition, showcase matches will be held each night. Each player will take part in technical sessions each afternoon. At this time, coaches will focus on the technical development of each player and how they can best prepare for the college game. During this period we will also conduct specific goalkeeper training in a professional training environment. All of our campers will be provided with a detailed written evaluation by their team coach. These evaluations will be useful references in the rest of the recruiting process.

Staff

The life blood of a top level camp experience is having top level staff. Each camper will be led by a collegiate coach through the week, and the unique curriculum of the Georgetown camp allows for every college coach to watch every player play every minute of every 11v11 game played during the camp. In addition to the entire Georgetown coaching staff, last year's camp staff included coaches from: Harvard, Dartmouth, UPenn, Boston College, St. Francis, Rhode Island, Tufts, Wesleyan, Babson and Catholic.

Facilities

The camp sessions will be held on the Georgetown University campus. The campers will stay adjacent to the training facility in Georgetown dormitories equipped with air conditioning and eat in the university cafeteria O’Donovan Hall. Campers will utitlize the same facilities the Georgetown team uses during the school year, including the state-of-the-art and newly resurfaced Multi-Sport Field.

Piece of Mind

We will be able to provide any camper a full reimbursement ($650) or a credit for next year's camp session if the camper's club team, whether they play in the USYSA National Championship Series or the USSDA, qualifies for the July National Championship Tournaments in either of those two leagues. We understand the training and preparation that goes into being able to compete in those tournaments, so even if the dates do not directly overlap, but there is a need to make training sessions leading up to the tournaments, campers will be able to take advantage of a full refund or credit for next summer's camp.
