2019 OVERNIGHT CAMP 2

Our swim camp is designed to inspire competitive swimmers to develop their strokes and training while swimming under the guidance and experience of some of the best college coaches in the country! University of Pittsburgh Head Coach and 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist, John Hargis along with his Pittsburgh coaching staff will instruct campers on the newest stroke techniques, and other topics such as preparing for college, sport nutrition and goal setting. Camp will also include the videotapping and individual stroke analysis and instruction, nightly team building activities, and a low camper to staff ratio.

Each camper will receive a Pittsburgh Swim Camp t-shirt and cap!

STROKE VIDEO ANALYSIS
Price: $100.00
New and improved video analysis for all campers is available! The video will include a review of all four strokes, underwater kick, surface kick, open and freestyle turns and a start. Each personalized video will be professionally edited and analyzed by the University of Pittsburgh Varsity coaches. Each camper will received a digital copy of their stroke analysis.

CHECK-IN
All campers check-in between 1:00pm-1:30pm on Sunday at Sutherland Hall. There will be a camp orientation meeting at 1:45pm and parents are welcome to join their campers for this meeting.

CHECK-OUT
Check-out for ALL campers is at 12:15pm-1:15pm on Thursday. Exact time and location of the camp closing ceremony will be confirmed by the camp director on the first day of camp.

FACILITIES | UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH
The University of Pittsburgh has one of the largest and most beautiful indoor aquatic facilities, Joseph Clifton Trees Pool. It boasts two pools: the first is a 50 meter, 25 yard pool with 21 lanes and a full compliment of diving towers and one and three-meter boards, and the second is a 6-lane, 25 yard pool that is ideal for small group instruction.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
7:30am → Breakfast - Overnight Campers
8:30am → Full-Day Campers & Half-Day Campers Arrive
9:00am → Morning Pool Session - Includes Training / Drill Development
10:00am → Videotaping - Each day will review a different stroke.
12:00pm → Lunch - Half-Day Campers Depart
1:00pm → Dry Land Session / Classroom Session
2:00pm → Afternoon Pool Session - Video Review / Drills / Starts & Turns
5:30pm → Dinner
6:30pm → Evening Session / Activity
10:00pm → Lights Out!

MEALS
All meals are included for overnight campers.

SUPERVISION
Campers are supervised 24 hours a day. The staff live in the dormitories with the campers and participate in evening activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.

MEDICAL FACILITY
A certified trainer will be on staff at all times.

HOUSING / ROOMMATES
Campers stay 2-per room in Sutherland Hall and are assigned by age and gender or roommate requests. If you have a roommate request, and have not already given it to us, please do so no later than 10 days before the start of camp. Boys and girls are housed on separate floors with gender specific counselors supervising the campers.

Full refund until May 15, 2019. 50% refund after May 15, 2019.

FOR YOUR SAFETY AND BENEFIT, WE RECOMMEND YOU HAVE COMPETITIVE SWIMMING EXPERIENCE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OVERNIGHT (E.G. USA. AGE GROUP, NATIONAL QUALIFIERS, HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMERS, OR SUMMER LEAGUE SWIMMERS) AND CAN SWIM AT LEAST 50 METERS IN ALL FOUR COMPETITIVE STROKES: FLY, BACK, BREAST AND FREESTYLE.
