Event Description

2019 Golf School Camps

The Wolfpack Golf School, featuring current and former North Carolina State University coaches and players, is entering it’s 31st year with the continuing purpose of promoting Junior golf and helping develop the talent of young golfers. An outstanding curriculum of practice, play and fun is planned.

Students will participate in different kinds of competition according to skill level and age with each student completing rotations which cover every phase of the game. The full week of golf will include individual and group instruction, video analysis, course strategy and management, rules, psychology, club fitting and tournament preparation.

An outstanding staff of PGA Professionals, college coaches, and college golfers has been assembled.  Their expert instruction is matched only by their dedication to junior golf.

Playing/Instruction Add-On
New in 2019, we have added additional hours of on-course golf instruction.  On Monday-Wednesday of a golf camp week, students can play golf with one of the NC State golf coaches, former coaches, or a current team member immediately after the normal camp day ends at 1:00.  The extra "add-on" hours are from 1:00-5:00.  This time is to teach course management, tournament conditions, strategy, rules, and swing instruction.  This unbelievable opportunity allows the student up close and personal access for a full round of golf, 3 days in a row.  Students who sign up for this "add-on" should be able to play golf on their own, and should have experience playing 18 full holes and handling their own equipment.  Each week is limited to only 12 "add-ons" so make sure to sign up early for this opportunity.  A student must be signed up in the full golf camp week in order to be eligible for the "add-on" hours.  Please note that Thursday, camp ends at normal 1:00pm hour for everyone ("add-on" is only Monday-Wednesday).

Proper golf attire is requested for all students while at Wildwood Green Golf Club and Lonnie Poole Golf Course at NC State University. Bermuda style shorts are permitted. Shirts with a collar are required but T-shirts are permitted during golf school weeks due to potentially hot weather and ages of the students. Golf shoes are preferred but not required. All students not wearing golf shoes should wear tennis shoes; please do not wear baseball or soccer cleats. All golf shoes must have non-metal spikes. We will be outside most of the day so suntan lotion or sunscreen may be needed. Frequent water breaks are a part of our daily routine.

Skill Level
All skill levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) are welcome at any golf school week. The student’s skill level and age are taken into consideration when making groups. The teacher - student ratio is 5:1 which enables the staff to assist students of all skill levels improve their golf game. We also understand that siblings and friends are in golf school weeks together and every effort is made to accomodate group requests during group instruction time. We expect every student to improve and to have a fun time doing it.
