Mississippi State Men's & Women's Junior Golf Camp

 

The Mississippi State Men’s & Women’s Golf Programs are proud to announce our 2020 Junior Golf Summer Camp to “Train Like a Bulldog!” hosted by Head Men’s Coach Dusty Smith and Head Women’s Coach Ginger Brown-Lemm, PGA alongside Assistant Men’s Coach Charlie Ewing & Assistant Women’s Coach Kortnie Barrett. Our camp includes:

●    elite golf instruction, training, and performance analysis
●    competitions at our team facility, The Barn, and our home course, Old Waverly Golf Club, host of the 2019 USGA Women’s Amateur, 1999 U.S. Women’s Open, and 2006 Mid-Amateur Championship
●    team-issued Mississippi State Golf gear
●    meals

This summer we are launching 3 camp options to fit the needs of every camper (ages 10-18): day camper, local day camper, and overnight camper


Overnight Camper: Our overnight camp is the ultimate experience. It includes all of the above plus overnight accommodations at world-renowned Old Waverly Golf Course. Some additional perks include: two rounds of golf at championship golf course, Old Waverly; intimate instruction from college golf coaches; a welcome dinner party and games; a final day concluding golf tournament. All meals are included.

Get To Know The Coaching Staff:
 
•    Ginger Brown Lemm, PGA – Head Women’s Golf Coach

Ginger Brown-Lemm enters her 10th season as the Head Women’s Golf Coach of Mississippi State. Under her leadership, the entire Women’s Golf record book has been rewritten. Coach Brown led the first DI women’s team to compete for an NCAA Championship in the state of Mississippi, followed by five team NCAA regional appearances, two NCAA Championship appearances, and five individual regional appearances to date. She has also guided her squad to multiple All-American honors and has claimed five team tournament wins and eight individual wins. Ginger’s passion for coaching comes from her experience as a high school All-American, an All-Southwest Conference player at the University of Texas in Austin, a competitor playing professionally, and a 23-year member of the PGA of America.
 
•    Dusty Smith – Head Men’s Golf Coach

Dusty Smith is in his 3rd year as the Head Men’s Golf Coach at Mississippi State University.  He has led the Bulldogs to two NCAA Regional appearances and two tournament team titles. Prior to his time at Mississippi State, Coach Smith served as the Assistant Men’s Golf Coach at Vanderbilt University where he helped guide the Commodores to four NCAA Championship appearances as well as three NCAA Championship Match Play appearances and an SEC Team Championship title in 2017.   Smith played his collegiate golf at Lamar University from 2003-2007 and was a PING All-American in 2006.
 
•    Kortnie Barrett – Assistant Women’s Golf Coach

Kortnie Barrett, formerly Maxoutopoulis, is in her 2nd year as the Assistant Women’s Golf Coach at Mississippi State. In her first year, Kortnie assisted in guiding State back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015 as well as claiming four Top-5 team finishes and reaching the quarterfinals of the SEC Championship with a seventh-place finish. Kortnie draws upon previous coaching experience from Long Beach State University and Georgia Southern University, where she led the team in claiming 3 team tournament titles, including a Big West Championship. Kortnie competed collegiately at Texas Christian University (2015) and Rutgers University, where she earned 3 individual wins and ten Top-10 finishes, including a third place finish at the 2015 Big 12 Championship.

•    Charlie Ewing – Assistant Women’s Golf Coach

A former standout college golfer at Vanderbilt University, Charlie Ewing is in his third year as the assistant to Dusty Smith and the Mississippi State Men’s Golf program. In his first two-and-a-half years at Mississippi State, Ewing has helped lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back post-season appearances and two tournament titles. As a player in 2014, Ewing was part of the first Vanderbilt Men’s Golf team to advance to the National Championship in nearly a decade as the Commodores finished the year as part of the top-20 in the country. After his playing career, Ewing joined the Vanderbilt Men’s Golf coaching staff as the Volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2016 National Championship, helping Vanderbilt finish in the top-8 and qualify for match play. The following year he became the Volunteer Assistant at Texas Tech University helping lead the team to two tournament victories and a top-15 national ranking at the season’s end.
