Event Description

Summer Gymnastics Camp

The 2020 Kent State Gymnastics Camp is offered for gymnasts of all levels, ages 8-18. The camp’s primary focus is skill progression and skill acquisition for all 4 women’s apparatus. Flexibility, dance, mental preparation and strength will also be emphasized. Camp instruction will take place in the MAC Gymnastics Training Center on the campus of Kent State University.

Staff:

The Kent State gymnastics staff will be a combination of our own Golden Flash coaching staff as well as our team gymnasts and outstanding local club owners.

Gym:

Camp is held in our practice facility on the campus of Kent State University. Our gym contains all AAI equipment, 20cm base mats, resi pit to tumble, vault and do bars into. Tumble trak. We also have a full size trampoline area.

Housing:

Resident campers will be staying in on campus dormitories. Each dorm room is equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. Two campers to a dorm room. Due to fire safety and security purposes this is non- negotiable. Campers will be supervised at all times in the dorms. Dormitories on campus can only be entered by swipe key for that building. Each camper will have their own swipe key. Campers are not allowed to leave the dorms unsupervised. Bed checks will be done each night.

Meals:

Meals are provided by our on campus dining services. Due to the volume and price point we would like to keep camp at, we do not do specific meal alterations. Feel free to bring your own food from home if you have specific food needs. All meals are served in the MAC Center (in the same building at the gymnastics gym)

Medical staff:

There will be a first aid provider at all gymnastics practice sessions.  First aid staff WILL NOT provide athletic tape, or braces.  They are also not permitted to tape, or administer any medical diagnosis.  They are strictly there for first aid and emergencies only.  Please make sure your camper can tape themselves.

Wednesday Day 4

Go Back To Dorms To Move Things Out Of Rooms Into Lounge
11:45-1:15 | Lunch
1:15-2:45 | Sessions In The Gym
2:45-3pm | Open Gym And Dances And Goodbyes!!!

*Campers will sign out with the staff from the macc center at 3pm and then are the responsibility of the parents to get them over to the dorms and to check out of their rooms
