The University of Minnesota Women's Gymnastics team wants to welcome you to join us as we host our Minnesota Gopher Gymnastics Summer Camps for girls on the campus of the University of Minnesota.  We offer a comprehensive, educational, and fun program for recreational, compulsory, and optional level gymnasts.  Emphasis on individualized instruction will be provided daily on each of the four events (vault, bars, beam, and floor), as well as, dance, strength and flexibility, nutrition, trampoline, and other activities.  An open gym session at the end of each day will provide campers with time to work on the skills of their choice. Our goal is to teach the sport by building a solid foundation for gymnasts at all levels. Campers will be run through Division I drills designed to develop skills, vision, and competency. All drills are specifically geared to prepare each camper for competition at the highest level. Minnesota Gymnastics Camp is committed to enhancing the skills of dedicated gymnasts, and with a staff of outstanding and experienced coaches we hope to make the Minnesota Gymnastics Camp a tremendous experience for all involved. 

Our camp is open to any and all entrants who meet the following criteria:

  • This is a girl's gymnastics camp only.
  • Commuter campers: Ages 7 and up.
  • Overnight campers: Ages 8 and up.
  • Previous gymnastics experience is recommended, but not required.

  • 10% off for campers attending 2 or more camps
  • 10% off if siblings are attending
  • 10% off if parent/guardian is a U of M employee
  • 10% off for Military - Please use Code during registration.  CODE - Military

Online Registration:

  • Complete registration form online and pay in full or the deposit (Be sure you receive a confirmation email within 24 hours.  If you do not receive it, contact us immediately).
  • Waiver must be completed electronically during the time of registration.
  • Emergency health and insurance form, medication form, pick-up permission form, and gymnastics skill sheet will be sent to you prior to camp, that must be completed and attached as a PDF to your registration.
  • A copy of the front and back of camper's insurance card must be uploaded to your registration prior to camp.

Tentative Daily Camp Schedule (July Camps):
DAY 1 - July 9/19, 2020

  • 4:30 - 6:00 pm → Overnight/Commuter Camper Registration in Frontier Hall Dorms and Move into Dorms
  • 6:00 - 7:00 pm → Dinner Break at 17th Ave. dining hall (overnight campers)
  • 7:00 – 9:45 pm → Camp Activity in Dorms (overnight campers)    

DAY 2 and 3 – July 10/20 and July 11/21, 2020

  • 8:00 am → Breakfast at 17th Ave. dining hall (overnight campers)
  • 8:30  - 9:00 am → Commuter Camper Drop-off
  • 9:00 - Noon → Warm-up/Three 50-minute Rotations
  • Noon - 1:00 pm → Lunch Break
  • 1:00 – 5:00 pm → Warm-up/Four 50-minute Rotations
  • 5:00 pm → Commuter Camper Pick-up
  • 5:00 – 6:00 pm → Dinner Break at 17th Ave. dining hall (overnight campers)
  • 6:00 – 8:30 pm → Camp Activity (overnight campers)

FINAL DAY– July 12/22, 2020

  • 8:00 am → Breakfast at 17th Ave. dining hall (overnight campers)
  • 9:00 am → Commuter Camper Drop-off
  • 9:00 – 10:00 am → Open Gym
  • 10:00 – 11:00 am → Dance/Certificate Presentation in Peik Gymnasium
  • *NO lunch provided on final day
  • 11:00 am → Camp Concludes
  • 11:00 am - Noon → Check out for all campers in Peik Gymnasium and move out of dorms

Facility:
Gymnasts will train in the Peik Gymnasium, 157 Pillsbury Drive SE, Minneapolis, MN, 55455. Parking is available in the 4th Street or Church Street Garage, a few blocks from Peik Gymnasium. Camp dances will be learned and performed in the Peik Gymnasium. The Peik Gymnasium is the training center for the Golden Gopher Women’s Gymnastics team. The facility is complete with a training room and includes:

ALL STATE OF THE ART EQUIPMENT:

  • 1 vaulting station into resi pit
  • 2 sets of uneven bars and 1 single bar into resi pit
  • Trampoline single bar
  • 4 reflex balance beams & 1 low beam 50’x 50’ floor exercise
  • Tumbling strip into resi pit
  • Tumbltrak into resi pit
  • 1 trampoline equipped with vaulting and flipping shape belt system
  • Video screens at every event

What to Bring:
Everyone should bring t-shirts, shorts, leotards, a water bottle, and any personal gymnastics equipment (grips, wrist guards, & tape). In addition, overnight campers need to bring pajamas, toiletries, pillow, blanket/sleeping bag, towels, bed linens for a twin bed, door decorations (optional) and bathing suits (optional).

Air Travel:
Overnight campers arriving via air at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport are recommended to use the light rail (Metro green line will bring you to the University – dorms and Peik Gymnasium are located on the East Bank). Metro fairs range from $1-$2.50/ride depending on the time of day. Light rail trips operate every 10 minutes throughout the day, every 10-15 minutes evenings, and every 30-60 minutes overnight. Housing:
Overnight campers will be staying at the Frontier Hall dorms (701 Fulton St. SE, Minneapolis, MN, 55455). Parking is available in the Oak Street Garage near the dorms, as well as, there are meter spots available in front of Frontier Hall. Gymnasts will have supervision from camp staff and counselors at all times, and the residence hall will be staffed around the clock.

Roommates:
Roommate requests are to be noted on the camp application. Make sure your roommate puts you down on her application as well. The dorms are designed in such a way that there are two girls per room. However, you may request a suite that includes two rooms that share a common room. Anyone who does not specify a roommate will be paired with another gymnast of approximately the same age.
