Event Description

Introduction to Nordic Walking

If your favorite activity for fitness is walking, take it up a notch with Nordic Walking. Nordic Walking uses poles specific for the sport (they are different from hiking or trekking poles) that increase your heart rate like running without the impact on your joints. Nordic Walking develops upper and lower body strength, making it a whole body workout, and burns 40% more calories than regular walking. Join Penny Fahey, certified instructor with the American Nordic Walking Association, as she teaches techniques for Nordic Walking on pavement, trails, and hills in one class, and the walking poles are included in the price of the class.

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, June 6
Dates: June 9; Saturday
Time: 8:30am - 10:30am
Place: Jaycee Park Picnic Shelter
Cost: $50 (includes the Nordic Walking Poles)
