This five-day workshop presents teaching strategies for the high school music theory classroom. Current, future, and interested teachers will learn effective techniques for teaching theory, ear training, and sight singing. Participants will have hands-on experience creating lesson plans that integrate written and listening skills, designing assignments and tests that assess necessary skills, and learning strategies specific to the AP curriculum and exam. This interactive workshop will be co-taught by UTSA music theory faculty Stacey Davis and Jennifer Beavers. Handouts and other materials you can use with your students will be provided as a part of the workshop.
Location: UTSA main campus, ART building
Refunds: We are unable to refund any registration amount after June 15, 2019.
Questions: Please direct questions to Stacey Davis (stacey.davis@utsa.edu) or Jennifer Beavers (jennifer.beavers@utsa.edu).
