The UTSA mariachi ensemble is opening it’s doors to members of the Greater San Antonio community. The ensemble rehearses on Thursdays from 5:00pm to 7:30pm and performs the music repertoire of the Mexican folk mariachi tradition.

We are in search of Violin, Guitar, Vihuela, Guitarron, Harp, Trumpet, Guitarra de Golpe, and Vocalists. We will be holding auditions during the first week of UTSA classes, January 14-18, 2019. Please be prepared with two (2) contrasting songs for auditions and vocal song if you are interested in being a soloist. All members are required to sing in the chorus, but are not required to sing a solo.

Cost to register is $200 and you are required to have your own traje and instrument. The traje will be yours and you are welcome to gig with it outside of UTSA.
