Sailing Camp | Week of June 24th
2019 Sailing Camps
Castle Harbor Sailing School has been serving the public in Miami and South Florida since 1956. Our lead instructors are certified and will teach you to sail with confidence using the ASA Certification system. Your instructors will show you the best of Biscayne Bay and the Florida Keys aboard our modern fleet of 20' sloop-rigged sailboats. Self-reliance, teamwork, and analytical thought are just a few of the benefits children take with them from being introduced to sailing. Your camper will always be learning, developing and never get bored! Campers will learn points of sail, knot-tying, sail trim, knowledge of basic sailing terminology, seamanship, safety, basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards. Let them develop a love for the sport for a lifetime and have fun learning how to sail at the US Sailing Center in Coconut Grove with direct access to the pristine Biscayne Bay waters.
Due to severe damage to our marina caused by Hurricane Irma we have relocated the camps to US Sailing Center in Coconut Grove this year. The address is 2476 S Bayshore Dr, Miami, FL 33133.
**We are happy to add more sessions if
you can guarantee a minimum of 3 campers.**
Camp director reserves the right to cancel camps with fewer than 3 participants.
T-shirt, shorts & white soled sneakers or boat shoes – no open toed sandals or black soled sneakers. Shoes need to be able to get wet!!! Each day your camper should bring a small gym bag or back pack with a hat, sunglasses, sun screen, water bottle & lunch. An extra t-shirt & a towel are also recommended. Please have the child’s name on all items.
On the first day, campers will go swimming in the Atoll pool and become familiar with our life jackets (PFD’s) and water safety procedures, so please ask your sailor to bring a towel, swim wear, and an extra t-shirt.
