Camp Description: The #FridayFielders Fall Infield Academy is an instructional camp focused on improving all aspects of infield play for a player who wants to be able play infield at the collegiate level. Future Bear instruction will be led by nationally recognized UNC Infield Coach Kainoa Correa, current UNC Infielders, the rest of the UNC Baseball Staff, and various local High School/Club Coaches. Last Spring, under the Coach Kai's tutelage, Bear infielders ranked second in the conference in fielding percentage, and the overall team defense set the school record for team fielding percentage. In 7 seasons of coaching college baseball, Coach Kai's infielders have set the program record for fielding percentage at both of the institutions he has coached (Puget Sound '14, Northern Colorado '16).
Coach Correa has served as an infield instructor, infield evaulautor, and featured infield speaker at Top 96, Trosky Baseball, ABD, ABC, Base by Pros, Stanford University, Kansas University, and University of Washington Baseball Camps. This past summer Coach Correa also served twice as an infield coach at the USA Baseball National Team Identification Series in Carey, NC. Coach Correa was also a guest infield speaker at the 2017 American Baseball Coaches Association conference in Anaheim, CA and the 2017 Colorado Dugout Club Conference in Denver, CO.
The academy is named #FridayFielders after the weekly infield instruction Coach Kai puts up on twitter every Friday.
