Hitting / Defense Camps

Hitting / Defense Camp: The camp is designed to instruct proper techniques used by Southern Miss hitters, infielders and outfielders. The day will be divided up with defense in the morning and hitting in the afternoon. All Campers will receive a camp T-shirt.  Hitters will receive instruction and be provided with drills that emphasize pre-pitch mentality, proper load and timing mechanics, tee work, soft toss, front toss, extension with finish, body and physical training care, and other aspects used by USM players and coaches. The defense portion of the camp will include infield and outfield techniques and drills. Infielders and outfielders will learn all aspects from pre-pitch routines to finishing throwing motions on all plays. This includes ground balls and fly balls, as well as throwing mechanics, and arm care. Campers are allowed to participate in both days.

All Southern Miss Baseball camps or clinics are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.
