NSU Baseball Camps

2018 Prospect Camp

The Top Prospect Exposure Camp provides an excellent opportunity for high school player's grades 9 – 12 and JUCO to be instructed by the Norfolk State University Baseball Program. The participants will be instructed in four phases of the game: Hitting, Pitching, Catching, and Fielding. Campers will also enjoy the competitive games that will be played during the camp. This camp is designed for the serious baseball player- one who has the interest and desire to play collegiate and/or professional baseball.

Prospect Camp
Date: Saturday, November 3rd
(Rain date is Sunday, November 4th)
Grades: 9th - 12th & JUCO
Time: 9:00 a.m. - End of Games (Instruction / Evaluation and Games)
Cost: $150 if registered on or before October 28th
$175 if registered after October 28th

(Personal evaluation from some of the top college coaches on the east coast.)

Note: During camp we will allow campers to have an hour lunch break. They will be allowed to leave and return for the remainder of the camp.

General Information
Players will receive one day of elite professional instruction, the opportunity to learn from and be evaluated by the Norfolk State University coaching staff and other coaches who will be instructing during the camp.

Players will receive hours of instruction, drills and one-on-one development from the camp. Position player instructional segments will cover all aspects of the game; players will receive hitting, defensive and base running skill instruction. Pitchers will receive instruction that covers pitching mechanics, defensive instructions and arm care / strength.

In addition to top instruction, the camp will also feature team games that will allow players to showcase their individual abilities in a game atmosphere for coaches and scouts to evaluate each player on an individual basis. Players will receive valuable knowledge of the college recruiting process along with other information pertaining to becoming and being a college prospect baseball player.

Teams will be broken down according to the number of players who attend camp.

Location
Camp will take place on the Norfolk State Campus at Marty L Miller Field. An indoor facility on the Norfolk State campus will be used if needed.

Equipment
Each camper must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, batting helmet, cleats, turf or running shoes, hat and any other equipment needed to participate. All campers should wear baseball pants.

Norfolk State Baseball Camps
The purpose of Norfolk State Baseball Camps is to help individuals maximize their ability as a complete baseball player. To do this a player must have the desire to work and master their skills through repetition, but they must first learn the proper techniques and mechanics. It is our goal to create organized, energetic, and fun learning environment to provide the best possible instruction in all aspects of the game. All of our camps offers an in depth look inside the Norfolk State University Baseball program, coaches, and the physical and mental skills taught to its players.
