This clinic is geared towards the serious baseball player looking for a more detailed and advanced program. This will be an all-encompassing program for position players. This program will emphasize the development of the swing and offensive approach, speed and agility as well as an arm care and arm strengthening program.

The Advanced Player Development Series will be limited to the first 40 players that register. It will be hosted at the University of Illinois Springfield baseball field.

What to Bring
Players are to bring metal spikes as well as either a molded cleat or flat running shoes. Also bring your own glove. Baseball pants not required.

If it rains, workouts will be moved to the UIS Baseball Indoor Facility, located in the Student Life Building, on the north side of campus.

Please arrive 15 minutes before. The baseball field is located across of The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) on the campus of UIS. The address for the The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) Richard Wright Dr, Springfield, IL 62703. Please bring your baseball gear: pants, gloves, bats, tennis shoes, and hat.

This series will be run by UIS Head Baseball Coach Chris Ramirez. Coach Ramirez is entering his 6th season at UIS. During the 2018 season, UIS Baseball broke the previous record and posted a 47-9 overall record, 23-1 in the GLVC and finished 1st in the NCAA Midwest Region with finishing 4th in the NCAA regular season.

Individually, the UIS team had 7 position players who earned All-Conference honors along with 3 players earning awards for All-Region team. The biggest achievement for the program in 2018 was Cole Taylor became the first 2 time All – American in program history with Mike Rothmund and Nick Stokowski earning All-American honors for the first time.  Also, making history at UIS, Taylor was the first person in program history to sign with a MLB team (Angles).

The UIS offense was ranked 1st in the GLVC in: Home Runs (105), Doubles (134), Batting average (.327), Slugging % (.582), Scoring (9.4), Hits (624), and Runs (528).

While being conference leaders in the major offensive categories, the UIS offense was ranked in these categories as well: Batting Average .327 (9th), Home Runs 104 (1st), Slugging .581% (1st), Scoring 9.4 per game (1st), Hits 613 (12th), Runs 524 (1st), and Doubles 132 (5th).
