Overview of Camp

Fundamental skill development through technical training and small-sided games helps players as they interact with proven coaches in youth baseball.  Whether you are a beginner or advanced player, you will be challenged to work hard and develop good baseball habits.  All campers will be grouped by age and ability after careful evaluation.   There will be a camper recognition ceremony on the final day of camp at 12:30 pm.

Camp Philosophy

The philosophy of the Lawrence University Summer Baseball Camp is to provide the best learning environment possible to help youth athletes improve as a total baseball player and have fun while doing it.  The staff will utilize techniques to insure quality baseball instruction related to the technical and tactical sides of the game.

Recreational opportunities during the camp include: Swimming, baseball, flag football, rec time, films, and demonstrations on both the baseball field, Alexander gym, LU Hitting Center, and the Banta Bowl.  Peer talks with members of the Lawrence Baseball team highlight this week of developing skills and friendships that will have a lasting impact on all attendees.  Each camper takes home a written evaluation identifying strengths and areas needing attention.  *The residential program will accept 9-year-olds with parental permission.

Resident Campers will be housed in the colleges residence halls.  Tuition for the resident camp includes all meals, instruction, recreation, and a baseball camp training t-shirt to take home.  Special registration procedures will be sent in the mail, and be available at drop off locations.

Commuter Day Campers participate in the entire resident camp program, beginning with registration on Sunday.  A commuter begins each subsequent day at 8:30am, concluding at the end of the day's activities (8:30pm or end of training).  Tuition for commuters includes lunch and dinner each day, instruction, a camp shirt, and recreation.  Special registration/equipment storage procedures will be sent by mail.

Regular Day Campers will report on Monday at 8:00am for Registration and then 8:30am on Tuesday and Wednesday providing 20 hours of quality baseball instruction.  The day camp program runs from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Wednesday the Day Camp will conclude at 12:30pm with both the Residential and Commuter Camp.
