2019 HITTING CAMP |
Samford University volunteer assistant coach Brad Moss, a former Samford Bulldog and San Francisco Giants Minor Leaguer is hosting a series of hitting camps for high school baseball players (grades 8-12) during the month of September.
The camp will be held each Thursday 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and Sunday night from 4:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. at J.T. Haywood Fieldhouse beyond right field of the Samford Baseball field.
The camp will include a breakdown of proper mechanics and the mental side of hitting. The camp will include a series of drills including: tee, front toss, side toss, overhand throw and machine batting practice. Hitters will also learn about different approaches at the plate. Each day will end with a competition simulating game-like situations.
The first day of the camp each hitter will be video recorded and will be able watch their swing with a Samford Baseball coach. This will give each player a chance to ask questions and receive feedback on their own mechanics as well as drills to correct any deficiencies.
The cost of attending the camp is $300. All participants should bring their own bat.
