Winter Preseason Prospect Camp (14-18u)

The Winter Prospect Camp is a 1-day camp designed to benefit the player looking to play at the next level. All prospect events will include a pro-style workout including the 60 year dash, arm grades, and batting practice. Instructional Prospect camp are one day of in-depth instruction and living-game innings. This day is used to provide potential student-athletes with quality instruction and an opportunity to display their abilities and talents through a professional-style workout and games. Camp participation is limited to 8th graders through 12th graders. Some current Pitt student-athletes will mentor campers during camp, answering questions about playing college baseball including the academic and athletic demands. Registration DOES NOT include any meals, transportation or lodging. The camp is not an overnight camp, thus players are responsible for their own hotel and transportation. There are limited number of players permitted in each camp to allow for extensive evaluation and enhanced attention to each camper.

TUITION
$135.00 per Camp
Tuition does not include any meals, transportation, or lodging. The camp is not an overnight camp, thus players are responsible for their own hotel and transportation.

LOCATION
The clinic is held at the Charles L. Cost indoor facility and/or Petersen Baseball Complex located at 365 Robinson St. Extension, Pittsburgh, PA 15219

EQUIPMENT
Each participant must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, cleats/spikes, running shoes or turf shoes, hat, helmet, bat, batting gloves and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Please mark each participants’ names on all items. The camp is not responsible for lost belongings.

ESTIMATED SCHEDULE

  • 8:30am – 9:00am: Check-In
  • 9:00am – 9:30am: Dynamic Warm-Up/Throwing Program
  • 9:30am – 10:10am: Position Instruction
  • 10:10am – 10:50am: Run 60s
  • 10:50am – 12:00pm: Defensive Evaluation
  • 12:00pm – 12:40pm: Lunch
  • 12:40pm – 2:30pm: Offensive Evaluation
  • 2:30pm – 3:30pm: Bullpen Sessions

PLAYERS RECEIVE

  • Advanced hitting, pitching, throwing, infield, outfield and catching instruction.
  • Evaluation detailing measurables demonstrated at camp.
  • Opportunity to meet Pitt Baseball Coaching Staff
  • Recruiting informational session for parents. 

PARKING
Parking is available in the OC Parking Lot located across from the Fitzgerald Fieldhouse on Allequippa Street. All vehicles parked on campus are subject to The University of Pittsburgh and the City of Pittsburgh parking regulations.

Please check your email regularly as this is our primary way we communicate. Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
PITT Baseball Camps have an open-door policy regarding watching your son practice and play while at camp. Should you want to arrange an official tour of campus, you will need to contact the Admissions Office at https://oafa.pitt.edu/visit/tours/.

CANCELLATION POLICY
All camps are non-refundable. Only camp credits will be given except in unforeseen circumstances, such as injuries or other unique situations. Please send your cancellation requests directly to the camp administrator, John Sansone at jsansone@athletics.pitt.edu. Your request must be sent 7 days prior to the start of camp to receive a future camp credit.
