Spotlight Kids: Music For Children With Special Needs: Grades K-8th
Spotlight Kids is a music class for students with special needs and their parents or caretakers. Open to all K-8 life skills and functional students. This course provides positive musical experiences in an accommodated learning environment where everyone finds success making music, regardless of ability level. Using song, movement, technology, instruments and dance, William C. Doublestein (general music teacher at BME) brings over seven years of experience teaching music to essential skills populations and directing accommodated music programs. Classes are 45 minutes long, broken up into various activities using traditional and contemporary music. The final day of the course will feature an optional performance to give kids time in the spotlight and showcase all we learned to family and friends.
