Exploring our Emotions: Grades K - 4th
This class is currently available for K-4th grade students. It will include fun activities to identify our feelings and learn how to manage strong ones. These activities will include, going on a Mindfulness Scavenger Hunt, playing fun games about our emotions and answering questions about when and where they happen, why they happen, who can help us and what emotions feel like inside our bodies. These activities will teach kids how to create new relationships and maintain old ones, and how to regulate and tolerate strong emotions. We will discuss how our emotions can affect our thoughts and actions and how we can change negative thoughts and behaviors into positive ones. This class will be led by Kirsten Donaldson, who has a Masters in Community Counseling and is a Licensed Mental Health Care Associate. My goal of this class is to help kids decrease current strong emotions when they arise, as well as prepare them for mental health challenges in their future so they are able to handle stressful situations in a productive manner. Parent participation is welcomed but not required. Once you have registered, I will be reaching out to you to answer any questions and provide you with some additional information. Feel free to contact me now if you have any questions at 317-287-9842. Limited to 8 participants.
