Learn to Write a Song

Learn to Write a Song:  Grades 5th-12th
Stretch your musical abilities with a week-long dive into the basics of songwriting! We’ll take a two-day crash course in music theory, the foundation of writing music, including brushing up on fundamentals, exploring chords and chord progressions, and writing melody and harmony. Using these concepts as building blocks, we will explore how they fit together to make the popular songs we all know and love. By the end, campers will begin to write their own song and have all the tools needed to finish it, a perfect summer project. Some experience preferred in reading music and playing an instrument or singing.
Limited to 25 participants
