GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY CAMP
Ankeny Hawks Girls' Cross Country Coach Eric Klingensmith and the Hawkette XC staff will again offer summer training camps to runners entering 8th - 12th grades. Join your teammates to train for a successful 2019 season by working to set PRs, build a cohesive team, and increase strength. Our camp includes various running workouts, flexibility, and strength training. Each athlete's training program will be tailored to their age, ability level, and desire to grow in their running experiences. Runners will log and gradually increase mileage throughout the summer, exploring several running routes and including games to keep the training fresh, fun, and exciting. T-shirts will be ordered when all registrations are complete and distributed at camp. At the end of camp, each runner will stencil their own summer mileage on the back at our finale breakfast. In addition, Coach Klingensmith will develop strength training sessions to supplement each Tuesday and Thursday of the weekly training schedule.
Girls will meet on the track for the first day, and most days, of camp, but the training calendar will reflect other locations we’ll meet at on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Weight training will also be a portion of Tuesdays & Thursdays so those training days will always be held at Southview
