Event Description

Purdue Softball All-Skills Winter Camps

  •  Prospect All-Skills Winter Camp designed for campers in grades 6-12.

This camp will feature softball skill training from Purdue Softball coaches, Purdue Softball student-athletes and guest coaches. Campers will learn from the best in the game, have fun, and make lifelong memories. Do not miss this chance to improve your skills and grow the game! All camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by age, gender, number, or grade level.

Prospect All-Skills Winter Camp (Grades 6-12)
Dates: January 12th & 13th
Grades: 6th - 12th
Saturday Defensive Session: 2:00-6:00pm (4 hours)
(Registration 12:30-1:45pm)
Sunday Offensive Session: 9:30am-1:30pm (4 hours)
(Registration 8:00-9:15am)
Cost: $200 per Camper

Prospect All-Skills Winter Camp (Grades 6-12)

Campers will train with the Purdue Softball coaches, student-athletes, as well as guest coaches for a total of 8 hours. Camp will be divided into two sessions, taking place over two days. Saturday will consist of a 4 hour Defensive Session. Sunday will consist of a 4 hour Offensive Session.

Offensive: 9:30am-1:30pm (4 hours)

Defensive Session:

Campers will learn the defensive skills to take their game to the next level. Campers will practice at their primary defensive positons: infield, outfield, pitching or catching.

  • All Campers: proper throwing mechanics
  • Defenders (Infielders & Outfielders): elite glove skills and footwork, fast-paced high-level situational defense, etc.
  • Pitchers: drills to increase your fastball velocity, change speeds effectively, improve your spin on movement pitches, own the strike zone, learn how to dominate batters at the highest level, etc.

*Pitchers do not have to bring their own Catcher.*

  • Catchers: proper blocking and framing techniques, bunt coverage, pick and steal throws, plays at the plate, foul balls, pitcher/catcher communication, etc.

Offensive Session:

Campers will learn skills to compete as high caliber hitters, including: hitting for average, hitting for power, gap to gap hitting, strike zone awareness, short-game execution, base running, and more.

  • All campers: swing mechanics, contact points, strike zone awareness, bunting, tips to hitting high-caliber pitching, and base running
  • At the end of camp, a mini-tour of Purdue Athletics Facilities is available to all campers.

Registration & Check-In:

Walk-Up Campers will not be permitted. All Campers must register online at http://www.coachboosoftballcamps.com . Online Registration will remain open until camp roster is full. Please register early!

Check-in will occur at Mollenkopf Athletic Center 1 hour prior to the start of each session. Plan to arrive at the facility early to avoid delays during the registration process and to secure parking.

Necessary Equipment:

All Campers must bring their own softball equipment. No cleats are allowed ever! All Campers must wear either turf shoes or sneakers. Campers are highly encouraged to wear their league, travel, or school softball uniforms to participate in camp. Softball pants are preferred. Campers are also encouraged to write their name on all of their equipment. Water will be provided at all sessions. Campers may bring snacks to camp, but all snacks must be eaten outside of the Mollenkopf Athletic Center, not on the turf.

  • glove, batting helmet with facemask, bat, (Optional: batting gloves, protective guards, defensive facemask, mouth guard, etc.)

Staff:

Purdue University Softball coaches, student-athletes, as well as guest coaches will be present.

Refund Policy:

We reserve the right not to refund participant’s registration fees. We strongly recommend you purchase registration insurance. During registration, you will be provided the option to insure the full amount of your registration. With Registration Protector, a camper who misses an event for a reason such as a covered injury or illness, job loss, transportation delays, military/family/legal obligations, and other covered reasons can get their camp fees reimbursed in full. It gives you peace of mind if you cannot make it to one of our events. It costs less than a cup of coffee to insure your registration amount.
