This Youth All-Skills Camp is designed for 3rd-6th graders of all skill levels. Our staff, including our current and former players, will coach each camper by breaking down the important, little parts of the game including throwing and catching, fielding, hitting, bunting, and base running. You will go home with plenty of new drills and skills and getting to experience a day at the “J” with Chicago’s Big Ten Team! This camp will fill up fast!
What To Bring:
- A 2019 Northwestern Softball Camp Release Form
- Bring any gear you would use in a game.
- Cleats and tennis shoes (In case of bad weather we will move inside)
- Pitchers must bring their own catcher. This can be a parent, sibling, friend, etc. Catchers who are girls 9th grade and up are required to pay the camp fee for the pitching session due to NCAA rules.
Pitching: This pitching portion will be taught by Northwestern’s pitching coach Michelle Gascoigne, as well as current Northwestern pitchers. It will mainly focus on correct fastball mechanics to gain speed, prevent injury, and gain consistency. We will also introduce off-speed and moving pitches, but it is not necessary to have experience in throwing these pitches to get the most out of this portion of the camp.
Northwestern Softball camps are open to any girl limited only by age and number of campers.
