College Coaches Skills Development Camp

This year’s 2019 College Coaches Skills Development Camp will feature some of the most talented college coaches from across the state of Alabama! This will be our BEST summer camp yet as each camper will come away with a better understanding of the fundamentals, improved individual skills and a positive team experience all while making memories that will last a lifetime! Whether it is obtaining a softball scholarship, breaking in to the starting line-up on your team, or just making some memories on the diamond, we will provide you with the skills, work ethic, and knowledge necessary to accomplish your goals. In addition, you will have the opportunity to interact with The University of Montevallo Softball staff and players as well as coaches from all levels of the game.  The 2019 College Coaches Skills Development Camp will cover all defensive positions, including: pitching, catching, first base, second base, third base, shortstop and the outfield. In addition to all aspects of the offensive game, including: hitting, bunting, slapping, base running and sliding.  This year we will also include some conditioning, recovery, team building and tips for the mental side of the game.

Coaches attending: Montevallo, UAB, South Alabama, Jacksonville State, Nichols State University, Alabama State, University of West Alabama, Lindsey Wilson College, Huntingdon College, Jeff Davis Community College, University of Tennessee Chattanooga, Wallace Hanceville.

Only 10 players per position at camp.

LOCATION:
University of Montevallo Softball Field in Orr Park (831 Island Street, Montevallo, AL 35115)

WE WILL PROVIDE:

1. Tons of hands on instruction in a very small learning environment.
2. Players will have ice and water in all dugouts and there will be several water stations throughout camp.
3. You will be given a colored jersey to wear on top of your clothes to be identified to the coaches according to your grad year. You will take this off at the end of the day and leave it with us. We will wash it for you for day 2 of camp.
4. Each player will receive a Frios Pop during day 1 of camp.

GAME FORMAT:
Games will be 1 hour 15 min drop dead on Day 2. We are playing to win so score will be kept!! Winning team will win a Montevallo t-shirt (in the event of a tie it goes to the team with the most runs scored). Each team will play 2 games. Rosters and game times will be announced at camp on Day 1. Players will be placed on teams based on the PRIMARY position they registered for.  They are only guaranteed playing time in that position.  During the skills session they may go to any position they would like to get skill work in.

LUNCH:
Lunch is not provided. We have allocated 2 hours for lunch so that you can eat locally and tour the surrounding areas. If you do not have a car, or are being dropped off, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the field.
