HSU Softball COVID Procedures

Screening for COVID-19 should be done by the legal guardians of the camper. Our trainers and staff will also screen for COVID-19 through observation and temperature checks at the gate. Any camper with signs of COVID-19 will not be able to participate in camp.

Signs of COVID-19:

• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Chills
• Repeated shaking with chills
• Muscle pain
• Headache
• Sore throat
• Loss of taste or smell
• Diarrhea
• Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
• Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19
• Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit

Camp Staff:

• Camp staff will not include individuals with underlying conditions
• Staff will limit environmental exposures by additional cleaning and disinfecting of equipment, dugouts, and bathrooms prior to camp.  
• A staff member with signs of COVID will not be able to work camp
• All staff will be trained on appropriate cleaning and disinfection, hand hygiene, and respiratory etiquette.

Camp sessions:

• Legal guardians will need to escort their child to our check-in at the gate to sign a COVID waiver, check for symptoms, and be there while temperature is taken.
• If a camper cannot participate in camp due to symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that their parent take them back home, and a refund will be rewarded.
• During the camp, campers will stay in group of 10 or less and bags/equipment will be spread out to reduce risk.
• Staff will ensure that campers use hand sanitizer every 30 minute during water breaks
• We will remind campers, parents, and guardians on exit of the enhanced risks of campers being in direct contact with anyone age 65 or older for 14 days after the end of the camp session.
• Parents should be present to pick up their child and check out with our designated staff member

Camp Spectators:

• Visitors should maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet from other individuals while at camp and should follow camp protocols for symptom screening and hand-washing or sanitization.
• Consistent with the actions taken by many individuals across the state, all spectators should consider wearing cloth face coverings (over the nose and mouth).

Refund Policy:

              A camper may receive a full refund if they are unable to participate in camp due to symptoms of COVID-19. If a camper is sick on day 2 of our camp, they will receive a partial refund and will not be able to participate in camp. If camp is cancelled entirely, all campers will be refunded.
