CLINIC COACHES: Rachelle Sherden enters her ninth season as head coach of the #11 Nationally-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College volleyball team in 2018. In her first eight seasons, Sherden guided the Gusties to MIAC playoff berths in 2011, 2014 and 2015, 2016, 2017 and has coached 11 players who have earned 18 All-Conference awards and two athletes who have garnered three All-American distinctions over her tenure. The 2017 Gusties enjoyed arguably one of the greatest seasons in the 49-year history of the program. After getting upset in the MIAC semifinals, the Gusties earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they proceeded to win a regional title and advance to the NCAA Elite Eight for the second time in team history.

Alyssa Taylor joins the Gustavus volleyball coaching staff for the 2018 season as Rachelle Sherden’s lead assistant. Taylor, a 2015 Gustavus graduate with a degree in health fitness, returns to her alma mater after spending the past two years working for the indoor and beach volleyball teams at the University of South Carolina. Taylor was a three-year starter for the Gustavus volleyball team from 2013-15 where she had a decorated career. The Trimont, Minn. native earned Third Team All-America and MIAC Player of the Year her senior season.
