NBA Forward Trevor Booker is happy to announce that he will host his youth basketball skills camp for the seventh year in Mauldin, South Carolina. Booker, a ten year NBA veteran and Clemson alumni, is set to host the camp on June 10-14th at the Mauldin Recreation Sports Center for boys and girls ages six to 17. Booker is carrying on the legacy of another Clemson basketball star, Greg Buckner, whose camps since 2005 have attracted NBA heavyweights, Carmelo Anthony, Kenyon Martin, and Andre Miller in past years. Booker’s camp has brought in NBA superstar, John Wall of the Washington Wizards, and others like Myles Turner, Jordan Hill, and Jawun Evans to participate and offer motivational messages to the children in attendance. Three years ago, in a surprise move to campers, Booker brought Hall Of Famer and former NBA All Star Allen Iverson. Iverson shared some cool stories with those that attended and was given a surprise of his own when campers serenaded him to "Happy Birthday" cheers.
Each day, campers will experience various stations, specializing in fundamental skills of basketball. Individual groups will be small and classified by age and skill level to ensure that each camper gets maximum coaching and education from the instructors. Lunch and camp T-shirts are included in the cost of the camp.
