POST & GUARD TEAM TRAINING CAMP | 2019
12th Year of MGBasketball Guard & Post School
Our goal is to teach “game applicable” skills and develop decision-making instincts that will truly help campers to become better basketball players. There are no gimmicks involved with MGBasketball Post & Guard School. Players will receive detailed instruction, based upon film study, that will truly help them “carry-over” the essential skills needed to be more productive players in the game setting.
This camp combines a detailed learning environment based on developing game applicable skills + the team camp experience (4 games + Buzzer Beater Tournament) + Classroom Sessions designed to help build and enhance your program’s culture.

(Divisions will be broken up based on Classification / Level of Play / 9th-12th graders)
Overnight Campers will stay on campus in air-conditioned dorms and be provided the following all-you-can eat meals. (Commuter teams can purchase a meal plan as well.)

Director:
Coach Matt Garnett is the owner, founder, and director of MGBasketball Instruction. During his time as the collegiate head coach at McMurry University, Garnett was named the American Southwest Conference Coach of the Year while leading McMurry to its first Conference Championship and = NCAA National Tournament appearance in over ten years. During his tenure at Wayland Baptist University, Garnett orchestrated a turnaround leading the Pioneers back to the NAIA National Tournament in both 2014 and 2015 after inheriting a team that won only nine games prior to his arrival. The 2014-15 season produced a 27-6 record and the school’s only Sooner Athletic Conference Championship in the history of the program. During the 2016-17 season, while serving as the Associate Head Coach at Texas Wesleyan University, Garnett helped the Rams win the 2017 NAIA National Championship.

Garnett graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a B.A in English and holds a Master’s Degree in Christian Ministry from Wayland Baptist University.
