2019 Summer Skills Camp

June 18th & 19th

Session II: HITTING TECHNIQUES & DRILLS CLINIC
June 18th | 12:30 - 3:00 PM

WHO: The Summer Skills Camp is for any and all athletes ages 10 and up (through high school only - no Junior College or 4 year college players).  These clinic sessions will focus on the fundamentals of the game and provide each camper with instruction and drills to improve their game.

Session 2: HITTING TECHNIQUE & DRILLS CLINIC | June 18th | 12:30 - 3:00 PM

 (40 player max)

  • This clinic will instruct on the proper mechanics of hitting from stance, balance, stride, swing, and follow through.  In addition they will learn drills to use back at home to become a better hitter.  Players will require a helmet and bat for this segment. 

REGISTRATION: Registration will open 30 minutes before the start of camp.  For the Pitching/Catching Clinic, registration will take place inside the Laub Indoor Complex, located at the north end of campus.  On the campus map provided, the Laub Indoor Complex is labeled TRC and is located just south of 1400 N.  To get to the Laub Indoor Complex, go east on 1400 N to 1000 E (just past the soccer field), turn right and you will end up in the parking lot.  For both hitting clinics, the speed and slapping clinic and the defensive clinic, , registration will take place at LaRee and LeGrand Johnson Field located on the north end of campus.  The physical address is 800 E 1200 N, just north of the football stadium. 

FOOD: Lunch will NOT be provided to campers.

WHAT TO BRING: Water will be available in the dugouts and at the indoor so please bring a refillable water bottle.  You should also bring the following items – glove, cleats (fall camp only), tennis or turf shoes, helmet, bat and catching gear if necessary. Clothing should match the weather conditions and campers should be prepared for any kind of weather.

MEDICAL CLEARANCE / LIABILITY WAIVER: By registering on-line, you have already provided us with your medical history, health insurance information and your parent/guardian has electronically signed the required waiver.

ACCOMMODATIONS: All camps are day camps only and NOT an overnight camp.  There are many great hotels in the Logan area. If you will be coming alone and need transportation to and from the camp from a hotel, you must contact Nate Miller at nate.miller@usu.edu.

AIRPORT INFORMATION: The nearest airport is Salt Lake City.  From there, your parent/guardian can either rent a car or take the Salt Lake Express Shuttle.  The number for the Salt Lake Express Shuttle is 1-800-356-9796 or you can find them on-line at saltlakeexpress.com.

REFUNDS: Refunds for all Summer Skills camps will be given with written notice at least 24 hours prior to the start of the camp and the rates will be in relation to the cost of the camp.
