Hardee’s Tip-Off Classic

Start off your travel team season with the annual Mason City Hardee’s Tip-Off Classic! We take great pride in hosting a quality travel team tournament early in the season. Check out the information below.

5th-8th Grade Teams

  • Mason City High School

Additional Information:

  • Rosters must be turned into tourney officials prior to the first game. No roster changes allowed once the roster is turned in. Players may play up a grade, but not down and each player may only play on one team.
  • IHSAA rules apply in all situations not addressed below.
  • 28.5 women’s ball will be used for all levels. Please bring your own warm up balls.
  • 3pt field goals count for all levels.
  • Zones are allowed.
  • Pressing allowed for all grade levels. No presses allowed once a team is up by 15 points.
  • Two 16 minute running clock halves. Clock stops the last 2 minutes of the 2nd half only unless there is a 20 point lead or more.
  • One sudden death overtime beginning with a jump ball similar to the start of a game.
  • Two timeouts per game, can be used at any time. In overtime, each team will be given one timeout (no carryover from regulation).
  • Minimum of 3 minute warmup will be given if we are behind schedule. Please have your team ready. If we are ahead of schedule, directors will work with the coaches to find the appropriate time to start.
  • Concession will be available at each location. Concessions will include Hardee’s Thickburgers and other items. Please clean up after your team.
  • Each team is required to provide ONE adult every game to be a scorekeeper/scoreclock person for each game. Please have them at the table during warmups to keep us on schedule. We advise assigning this before the tournament begins.
  • Medals will be awarded to the champions of each division. Champions will be decided
  • by record. In a tie breaker scenario, head-to-head first, then least total opponent point scored. If unique circumstances arise, the director will decide how best to determine a tie break.
