Event Description

2019 UWL SOFTBALL FALL LEAGUE

Dear Prospective Camper:

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Softball coaching staff and student-athletes would like to invite you and your teammates to participate in our UWL Softball Fall League.  The league is open to softball players in grades 7-12.  The registration fee is $110 for all participants.

The instruction given in this year’s league will focus mainly on the fundamentals of hitting, the achievement of quality at-bats, and the mental side of hitting.

Registrants will receive the following experience/instruction on the following dates:

  • Prior to September 15 – Instructional videos and files distributed electronically
  • Sunday, September 15 – Instruction on hitting fundamentals and quality at-bats, instruction on team defense (bunt coverages, cuts and relays), and one 7-inning (or 80-minute) game
  • Sunday, September 22 – One 1-hour warmup and Two 7-inning (or 80-minute) games
  • Sunday, September 29 -  One 1-hour warmup and Two 7-inning (or 80-minute) games
  • Sunday, October 6 - Consolation-Championship Tournaments – One 1-hour warmup and Two 7-inning (or 80-minute) games
  • Sunday, October 13 - Raindate

In order to provide a quality experience to all registrants and keep the camper-instructor ratio at an acceptable level, we are:

  • Making the league available to softball players in grades 7-12
  • Limiting the number of participants in this year’s league to 8 teams of 12 players
  • Holding the league at one complex (Jaycee Fields near 599 Quincy Street in Onalaska)

The registration deadline is Sunday, September 1st

When you register,

  • Choose your desired division based upon your skill level (upper, lower, either).
We will not split into divisions until the last Sunday.
  • Choose your desired time slot (morning, afternoon, either).
We will not be able to guarantee that you will always play during your desired time slot.  Your flexibility on shifts will allow your daughter the chance to play a variety of opponents.
  • If you plan to play on a pre-determined team of 12, please choose “Team” from the drop-down menu during the online registration process.  If you are signing up as an individual and have a few others with which you would like to play (possibly, for carpooling reasons), please choose “Individual” from the drop-down menu and list the other girls’ first and last names where prompted.

If you have questions, please contact Coach Chris Helixon at 608-785-6536.

We hope to see you on the field this fall.

GO EAGLES!  TAKE FLIGHT!
