UW-Stout Softball Camps

Defense & Athletic Throwing Camp

This 4-week camp is geared toward helping young athletes not only develop their fundamentals, but also take their skills to the next level. Each camper will have the opportunity for instruction from members of the Blue Devil Softball Staff and current athletes to improve both her throwing mechanics, arm strength and velocity, as well as her position specific defensive skill sets using drills that our student-athletes use to train each day. The position specific defensive side of the camp will cover infield glove work, base foot work, angles, outfield work, and catcher’s positional work. Due the 4 week camp, campers who play multiple positions can choose which position they’d like to work on each day. The explosive throwing portion will teach each camper the correct fundamentals to developing a strong, accurate and efficient throw while developing the fundamentals for the different types of throws from all areas of the field.
