(Use 1914 Campbell Road for the GPS address in order to find UWL Parking Lot C-9, which is on the south side of Mitchell Hall.  If this lot is full, please find a parking spot on an adjacent street.  UWL is hosting a football game in the afternoon, so on-campus parking might be difficult to find.

Basic/Intermediate
If the registrant would like to perfect basic pitching mechanics in order prepare to throw basic movement pitches, register for the Basic/Intermediate clinic.  Please arrive 30 minutes early to check in and begin warm-up.

Advanced
If the registrant has a grasp of basic pitching mechanics and has begun working on movement pitches, register for the Advanced clinic.  Pitching mechanics are covered, but not in great detail.  Please arrive 30 minutes early to check in and begin warm-up.

Additional Information
If a pitcher would like to register for both clinics, she can.  She just needs to ensure that she paces herself by throwing at shortened distances and limiting the number of full-effort pitches throughout the day.

Online advanced registration and payment are required by Friday, October 4.  Each clinic is limited to 24 participants..

What to Bring

• A fully-geared catcher (NOTE:  UWL can provide some catchers, but, please do your best to bring one.)
• Gym shoes (no cleats)

Sarah Pauly
NCAA All American, ASA All American, National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) All Pro

Sarah has had a long and storied collegiate and professional pitching career.

While at Texas A&M Corpus-Christi (TAMUCC), Pauly rewrote the NCAA record books and posted a four-year record of 112-46 for the Islanders.  She is currently third in career strikeout ratio with 11.6 strikeouts per seven innings pitched and is tied for ninth in career strikeouts with 1,370. More impressively, those records were accomplished in only three years as TAMUCC had provisional status during her freshman season.

As a senior in 2005, Sarah went 37-7 with a 0.56 earned run average and finished with 497 strikeouts and 12.08 strikeouts per seven innings. The 37 victories placed her third in the nation behind Texas’ Cat Osterman and Tennessee’s Monica Abbott, while her strikeout ratio, strikeout total and ERA ranked second, third and fourth in the country. Her strikeout total and ratio are each among the NCAA’s Top-25 single season performances, ranking 15th and 12th, respectively.

As a junior in 2004, Sarah compiled a 27-10 record and ranked fourth in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings (11.5), ERA (0.64) and strikeouts (442), while coming in sixth in saves with six. That followed a sophomore campaign, and the first at the NCAA level, that saw Sarah finish with a 23-16 record and place third in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings (11.4) and strikeouts (431), sixth in ERA (0.82) and seventh in total wins.  Additionally, Pauly garnered Big South Pitcher of the Year, Big South Tournament Most Valuable Player and All-Conference First-Team selections in each of those seasons.

Following the completion of her college career in 2005, the Sarah joined the Stratford Brakettes Women’s Major Open Amateur team and was named an Amateur Softball Association Women’s Open First-Team All-American in her first season. She followed that performance with a 2006 season that saw her earn Most Outstanding Pitcher honors in the National Pro Fastpitch league with a league leading 1.24 ERA and league-high 15 wins and 138 strikeouts for the Connecticut Brakettes. She was also named an All-NPF selection as she helped lead the Brakettes to a runner-up finish in the league. That same year, she was chosen as a member of the Team USA Softball National Training Team.

In 2007, pitched for the Washington Glory and went 13-6 with a 1.35 ERA and struck out nearly a batter an inning with 122 strikeouts in 124.2 innings. She went the distance in six of her 18 starts and allowed only 24 earned runs in the Glory’s run to the National Pro Fastpitch title.

In 2008, Sarah pitched for the USSSA Pride, where she teamed with Cat Osterman, Katie Burkhart, and Danielle Lawrie, Monica Abbott, Taryne Mowatt, and Desiree Serrano.  The Glory reached the NPF finals for a second consecutive season.  Even with the quality of the pitchers on her own team, Sarah led the league in ERA from start to finish and struck out 112 to hit triple-digits in strikeouts for the third straight season.

In 2009, Sarah pitched for the USSSA Pride and helped them earn the runner-up spot in the league finals.

In 2010, Sarah pitched again for the USSSA Pride and helped them win the NPF Cowles Cup.  She was selected to the NPF All Pro team for the fourth time.

In 2011, Sarah signed a contract to pitch in Japan for Honda Motor Company in the Japan Women’s Fastpitch Pro League. She and NPF teammate Lauren Lappin combined to have a great season with the Honda team. Additionally, Sarah was a mainstay pitcher for the NPF runner up USSSA Pride, teaming with Cat Osterman and Danielle Lawrie.

In 2012, Sarah was named the pitching coach at her alma mater, Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

In 2013, Sarah competed again with the USSSA Pride, and, again, was selected to the NPF All Pro Team.

In 2014 Pauly was traded to the Pennsylvania Rebellion, where she joined her longtime teammate Lauren Lappin. As a member of the Rebellion, Sarah garnered her 7th NPF All Pro selection.

In 2015, Sarah pitched for the Akron Racers and won her 100th NPF game and became the All-time NPF Career Wins Leader.  Sarah was selected to her 8th NPF All Pro Team.  In the fall of 2015, Sarah pitched in the Japanese Pro League.

In 2016, Sarah pitched for the Akron Racers in the NPF and Toda Medical in the Japanese Pro League.

In 2017, Sarah officially retired from the NPF and opted to pitch for Bollate in the Italian Pro League.  In late 2017, Sarah traveled to China to coach the Chinese Junior National Team pitchers for 4 months.

In 2018, she pitched with Bollate in Italy and helped her team win the European Cup.

In early 2019, Sarah pitched with The Ramblers in New Zealand and, in the summer, she pitched for Forli in the Italian Pro League.

Over the years, Sarah has coached pitching at Texas A&M- Corpus Christi, The College of Charleston, Spartanburg Methodist College and at numerous camps and clinics.

Rick Pauly

Rick Pauly, former University of Georgia Bulldogs Pitching Coach and 2015 USA National Team Coaching Pool member, will be leading our pitching clinics.  Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from one of the top pitching coaches in the country.  Coach Pauly is a master at developing safe and efficient mechanics in pitchers.

In the Basic/Intermediate clinic, Rick will help set the foundation that you will need to become an elite pitcher.  You will learn the basics of the dropball and change-up.

In the Advanced clinic, Rick will focus on safe techniques required for throwing elite level movement pitches like the riseball, curveball, dropball, and change-up.  You will learn the following:

• the four key fundamentals/techniques that enable you to perform elite level pitches
• the best drills for achieving proper spin axes and for developing effective spin rates
