Sessions will be 1 hour long starting at 7:30

Our 12-week speed and agility program will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning on August 4th and continuing through October 29.

Days and Time - Sessions will be 1-hour long beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The Program

Our Speed and Agility program is designed to maximize a player's athletic ability and will specifically focus on straightaway speed, takeoff speed, change of direction speed, and lateral quickness. 

Who Can Participate

This program is designed for both male and female athletes in all sports. Whether you want to have a quicker first step to get by your defender, faster 40-yard dash time and shuttle times, or if you want to beat the throw to first base, this program will help you get there. 

Our Staff

Coach Josh Aguas comes from Incarnate Word Academy, where he serves as the Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Basketball Coach. Josh has coordinated the Strength and Conditioning Programs for the Baseball, Basketball, and Golf teams while at IWA. Coach Aguas has been a part of three District Championship teams and one State Semi-Final appearance while at Incarnate Word. 

Coach Josh was raised in Carrolton, Texas and was a mult-sport athlete at Creekview High School where he was a 2-time All-District selection in both baseball and football. 

After High School, Coach Josh moved to Tishomingo, Oklahoma to play collegiate baseball at Murray State College (NJCAA Division 1). After completing his eligibility at Murray State, Coach Josh transferred to the University of Texas - Arlington (NCAA Division 1) to finish his baseball career. He received his Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology with a focus in Exercise Science. 

Coach Aguas is a Velocity Sports Performance Specialist, a STRIKE Performance Coach, a NCSA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach, and a Crossfit Level 1 Coach.


Coach Doug Nichols, Director of South Texas All-Star Basketball, brings a wealth of experience coaching and training athletes of all ages and experience levels.

After completing his playing career as an All-District performer at W.B. Ray High School, Coach Nichols went on to graduate from Texas A&M University - College Station with a Bachelors Degree in Sport Management with Minors in both Coaching and Business. During his time at Texas A&M, Doug Nichols worked as an Athletic Assistant for Men's Basketball Operations at Texas A&M and served as the Head Junior High Girls Coach and Head Varsity Boys Coach at Brazos Valley Christian Homeschool.

Coach Nichols continued his coaching career as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Stephen F. Austin State University where he earned his Masters Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. 

In his time coaching at the collegiate level, Coach Nichols has coached 13 All-Conference players, 1 All-American, and 1 Newcomer of the Year. His teams advanced to play in the post-season 8 of 9 years including appearances in the 2008 National Invitational Tournament (NIT) and the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
