Event Description

Kirkwood High School Camps

KIWI Writing Camp

Learn and practice writing techniques including characterization, dialog, description, imagery, and conflict.  Weave these skills into existing or new pieces.

Camp Information
June 15th - 19th

Grades: 8th - 12th
Times: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Cost: $200
Location: KHS Library

 
Each writer receives a KIWI shirt
Snacks provided but writers need to bring their lunch each day
Writers will write, alone, with small groups, and as part of the entire institute

Guest Speakers: Professional writers and artists will share their experiences in the field and tips for younger writers

Field Trips: Past trips have included the St. Louis Art Museum, the Botanical Gardens, and Laumeier Sculpture Park - place that inspire writing and present art in unusual forms.
