WSC Track Camps

2019 Pole Vault Camp

This is a developmental clinic to help become a better athlete and coach. The clinic is designed to teach techniques, offer constructive criticism, and give assistance in a workout environment.

Sunday, January 6th
Grades: 7th - 12th, JH / HS
Cost: $30 per Participant
$20 for Coaches (Can attend 1 or 2 Sessions)
Limited to 24 Campers

Attend both sessions for $50 (You save $10)

8:30 - 8:50 a.m. Welcome - Split Into Groups
Group 1 - Beginners
9:00 a.m. Approach / Runway Drills on track
10:00 a.m. Plant Drills with slide boxes / towels
11:00 a.m. Pop-ups / Short Approach Vaults
12:00 p.m. Camp Ends
Group 2 - Intermediate
9:00 a.m. Approach / Runway Drills on track
10:00 a.m. Plant Drills with slide boxes / towels
11:00 a.m. Pop-ups / Short Approach Vaults
12:00 p.m. Camp Ends
Group 3 - Advanced
9:00 a.m. Approach / Runway Drills into Pits

Coaches / parents are welcome to attend and watch. If you want to video anything, that is fine.

Location: Wayne State College  |  Indoor Track  |  WSC Recreation Center

What To Bring:

  • Workout Clothes
  • Spikes (1/4 pyramid max length)
  • Must have own poles (limited number of smaller poles may be available for use)

Included:

  • Pole Vault drills by HS coaches
  • Technique & Skill Instruction
  • Pole Vaulting into pits

Camp Objective:

  • Increase knowledge of event and technique
  • Teach athletes new drills to enhance ability
  • Practice skills with individual coaching
  • Get a head start on the track season
