Speed and Agility Clinic
2018 SPEED AND AGILITY CLINIC
This is a highly instructive/intensive program with specialized instruction focused on players with aspirations of improving the physical component of their game. These camps will be coached by Head Strength Coach Cameron Clark and members of the UNC Asheville Soccer Staff. Goalkeeper Specific Training will be provided if needed. Campers will be divided by age and skill levels.
In unique training sessions, players will be taught how to improve in the following (but not limited to) areas:
- Lateral Speed
- Analytic & Tactical Ability
Soccer Specific Agility
- Reaction Time
Technical Soccer Specific Speed
- Cognitive (mental)
- Neuromuscular (Physical)
- Situational (Sport Specific)
Soccer Specific Strength & Power
Scientifically proven, progressive resistance training with a focus on ground based, multi-joint movements that are specific to soccer. Areas addressed:
- Muscular Endurance
- Explosive Power
- Core Strength
- Energy system conditioning
- Injury Prevention
Plus, each player will receive a detailed evaluation of their running form and will learn specific drills and training exercises that will continue to help them improve in each of the key areas of speed and agility.
Location: UNC Asheville Track/Greenwood Field
Required Gear: Soccer Cleats, water bottle, running shoes
