2018 SENIOR ELITE ID+ CAMP

  Monday, July 9th - Tuesday, July 10th

Open To Any & All: Girls Currently in 8th Grade & Older
Location: Oakland University Lower Fields
Cost: $325 per Camper

This program is designed for the most serious and dedicated players. The senior elite camp is for players interested in becoming a college soccer player or interested in being recruited at Oakland University, so it also serves as our ID camp during the summer.

Morning sessions will consist of advanced technical and tactical sessions and will simulate Oakland University training sessions. Afternoons will include a technical session as well as small sided match play. Evening sessions will consist of match play.

Our camps are designed for players to get maximum exposure in front of our coaching staff and this is a great opportunity for players to be trained and evaluated by our coaches. In addition, our camp will offer a unique mental training component to help you in this very important part of your development as a player should you decide to take advantage of it.

Sports Psychology Introductory Session - How To Get On The Energy Bus: One of our unique and new components to our elite camps is the Mental Training (Sports Psychology) Component. We will include mental training ideas and concepts as part of the camp and in the coaching sessions to help introduce this area of their development as complete soccer players. This module delves into becoming more positive athlete. Become more positive to yourself and towards your teammates.

TAP Assessment: In 2015 Coach Favero led the partnership between San Diego State and The Right Profile to become the first women’s soccer program to parter with the TAP, which is an invaluable tool to help athletes understand and grow in mental toughness areas through several mindset developmental tools.

Oakland Women’s soccer will begin the use of this phenomenal tool this fall and the TAP Assessment is a new feature for our camps as well. The cost of the TAP is only $25 and if you add this on to your camp registration, you will receive a separate email with instructions on how to take advantage of this great tool.

In Depth Sports Psych Session - Self Talk & Affirmation: In addition to the introductory mental training session and the TAP, we also offer an in-depth mental training session which is open to the first 50 campers who register for this additional feature. The cost for this additional feature is $75, and if you sign up for this session, the TAP assessment is included. By registering for this session, you will also receive the benefits of the TAP assessment and results.

The topic covered in this in-depth session is the all-important mental skill of positive self-talk. We will teach the campers how they can begin to take control of what they say to themselves and change any negative thoughts to positive talk. We will also help athletes in the development of personal affirmation statements. This is what Coach Favero calls the “Swiss-Army Knife” of mental training. These two very practical and yet very important areas will help athletes see an immediate impact in their mental game and athletic performance.

Additional Mental Training Component: A unique feature offered as an add on to our Elite ID+ camp is the Mental Training (Sports Psychology) aspect. Participants will be able to take and utilize the TAP (Troutwine Athletic Profile) Assessment. You can find out more about the TAP assessment at http://takethetap.com/.

In 2017, Oakland Women’s Soccer partnered with the TAP, and our coaching staff and student-athletes are using this invaluable tool to help them understand and grow in mental toughness areas through several mindset developmental tools. All those who register for the add on will receive a direct link with instructions on how to take this test and will receive the report from TAP. This will allow you to take the TAP at your convenience and begin reviewing your results immediately.

All mental training aspects are led by Juan Pablo Favero. Besides leading the Oakland women’s soccer team, Favero also serves as a Sports Psychology Consultant and has worked with many other teams and athletes helping them with various mental training aspects. He holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and has worked with business leaders and organizations. In addition, JuanPa has published several articles on Sports Psychology and Leadership topics.
