Goalkeeper/Finishing Camp | July 22nd - 25th
Boys & Girls, Ages 6 - 14
Location: University of Mary Washington Campus - Campus Recreational Turf Field.
(From Rt. 1 turn onto Alvey Drive and park in the parking deck which is located next to the turf soccer field.)
The Youth Soccer Camp provides soccer players with an opportunity to focus on their skill development in a fun and relaxing environment. The camp provides an experienced staff, which will then be divided to feature small groups focused on individual technique and small-sided games. Whether you are a seasoned veteran looking to sharpen your skills or just beginning, our academy is a great opportunity to learn more about soccer while having fun.
The game is the most important element in our program. We believe the game is the best teacher. The use of futsal (small-sided game/originated in Brazil) will create game-like situations that increase touches on the ball and replicate the actual game. Small-sided soccer develops individual technique and helps players understand the more intricate aspects of team play. For players of all ages and abilities, the excitement of competing in small-sided soccer is forever a favorite.
Our goal is to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience and enhances their individual skills. We believe fun and excitement combined with learning produces the optimal results. Our staff will share their knowledge and passion for the game which will motivate campers to improve their own game. It is our hope that campers gain new skills, polish existing ones, and make new friends!
Location: Campus Recreation Fields, Alvey Dr. Fredericksburg, VA
Youth Soccer Camp | June 24th - 27th
Our camp goal is to motivate and build the students positive self-image while promoting the world's most popular sport. Camp is specifically designed to teach boys and girls the necessary skills, tactics, and fundamentals needed to perform in matches. This will be accomplished with small group instruction through our highly qualified coaching staff.
Goalkeeper / Finishing Camp | July 22nd - 25th
Goalkeeper camp will employ some of the modern training methods that are used throughout the US and Europe. Each camper will be challenged to refine his or her technique, push themselves to reach a higher level of performance each time they step on the field. Our goalkeeper camp will be led by Assistant Director, Ken Manahan. Coach Manahan is the goalkeeper coach for the University of Mary Washington mens team. Our goalkeeper academy will run simultaneously with the Finishing Academy. The two groups will combine to create game like situations with live shots on goal and game experience for all goalkeepers.
Our Finishing Camp is all about SCORING GOALS! We will train the players to create scoring chances and capitalize on them. Our focus will be on the technique of shooting. We will also create game-like scenarios to improve player ability to create high percentage scoring opportunities in and around the penalty area. This program will be designed to improve a players 1 v 1 ability. Additionally, we will introduce small group attacking principles 2 v 1, 2 v 2, 3 v 2, and 4 v 4 and other small group attacking scenarios.
