ONE DAY ID CAMP

October 5th
Who: 9th grade - College Sophomores, Girls
Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Grambling State University Soccer Field
Cost: $40 if registered by October 3rd

Come and train at Grambling State University with the staff and team as they host a one day ID camp this October. The camp will be hosted on Saturday morning October 5th from 9am to Noon at the GSU Soccer complex. Our soccer field is located next to the Frederick Hobdy Assembly Center (Google that and hit go for directions). Cost for the camp is $40 and you can register online which includes the liability waiver and option to purchase a Grambling State custom designed soccer ball if you'd like. Register by October 3rd to avoid a $10 late fee. The camp is for female soccer players ages 14 thru Sophomores in college for any JC players who want to attend.

The GSU Soccer team had an excellent season in 2018 going 14-8 overall, winning the regular season championship title with a 9-1 record in Conference play. The team posted 13 shutouts on the season to finish 10th in the nation for most shutouts out of 338 NCAA D-1 teams, as well as finishing 11th in the nation for best shutout percentage. Five players were honored as All-Conference selections and four made the All-College team for the states top players in Louisiana.

We are working to conclude our 2020 recruiting class this winter, and are currently in the middle of our 2021 recruiting class. So skilled players who want to come join us for a morning of soccer, see campus, meet the team and work with our staff, we'd love to have you out. We'll do some technical training at the camp, and then build from short sided competitions to a full 11 vs 11 scrimmage near the end of camp. There are plenty of nice hotels at affordable prices in Ruston just 4 miles from campus if traveling from out of area to attend. And nearby restaurant suggestions for lunch following the camp would be Bristers BBQ just an exit up the road, Johnny's Pizza buffet, Chili's, or even Chic-FilA, Subway, or Firehouse Subs on campus if they are open at that time.

What To Bring: Please bring necessary soccer equipment to compete, shin guards, ball, water bottle, cleats and a smile.

Contact: Please contact coach Wagar (801)234-0235 with any questions or email him at wagarj@gram.edu.

This camp is more to evaluate skill of players in a competitive tryout setting. If you want more instruction that will prepare you for college and teach skills then consider our overnight summer camp that will be hosted in mid July. Those who get in town a day early or have free time after the camp, I encourage you to stop by the Eddie Robinson sports museum on campus and watch the 10 minute film on GSU's sports history and peruse one of the top 10 visited attractions in the state while on campus. Thanks for your time.
