Goalkeeper & Striker Camp
2020 GOALKEEPER & STRIKER CAMP
The WMU Men’s Soccer program is pleased to host a summer goalkeeper and striker camp. The camp is designed for goalkeepers and strikers interested in improving their skills in a structured environment. Designed and led by the men’s soccer staff, this specialized camp will focus on shot-stopping, dealing with crosses, game management, distribution and position specific strength and agility exercises for goalkeepers. Strikers will focus on improving their confidence, technique and decision making in the attacking third to enhance scoring opportunities.
The camp is split into two parts. The first half of the camp consists of drills that pertain to the position you camper is interested in. Goalkeepers will train in their own groups based on age and skill level. Strikers will also train in their own groups based on age and skill level. During the second half of the camp the groups are combined so the campers can use the skills learned in the first half against the opposing position.
EVERY CAMPER NEEDS
Soccer Ball, Shinguards, Cleats, Snacks (If Needed), Goalkeeper Gloves, Water Bottle (Water on Site to Refill)
- We encourage all campers to arrive between 5:30-5:45 PM in order to ensure that all check-in/registration is completed by 6:00 PM.
The camp will be held at the WMU Soccer Complex. The WMU Soccer Complex serves as home to both the Western Michigan men's and women's soccer programs. The WMU Soccer Complex has seen extensive renovations over the last seven years, transforming the complex into one of the finest in the Mid-American Conference and the Midwest.
