2019 Spring Swarm Tournament
Registration Deadline: April 15th –Registrations will not be accepted after this date. If mailing registration, it is recommended that you send everything at least 4 business days in advance of when you would like us to receive it, and then follow up via email or phone to make sure we received your registration.
Junior Girls Divisions* – 12’s (Gold & Silver divisions), 14’s, 16’s, 18’s
- 12 Silver Division will be played on a youth height net with VolleyLites and a generous step in-bounds on serve
- 12 Gold Division will be played on a youth height net with regular balls and regular serving line rules
- Age divisions may be combined or separated if necessary
Following pool play, based on the number of teams per division, teams will either compete in a single elimination bracket or a seed challenge. Rolling schedule will be applied.
Officials & Scorekeeping
Each team must provide 1 qualified down official, 2 lines, and 2 scorekeepers for the matches they are assigned to referee. Not providing an officiating crew may result in a forfeit of the first game of the next scheduled match.
*Please note that the up officials will be current BHSU volleyball players. We appreciate your cooperation with and respect of these officials as they are working on a volunteer basis.
Team Rosters / Schedules
A completed team roster is REQUIRED to compete at BHSU. All teams MUST submit a roster by April 15th (See page 3 for Roster details if mailing in registration. If registering online, fill out roster section at checkout.).
Roster changes are permitted up until check-in, but if no roster is submitted, the team may be withdrawn from the tournament.
Schedules will be sent via email shortly after the Registration deadline. Please provide accurate information on the registration page.
Saturday (12s) - Team check-in will be held at Spearfish High School Gymnasium from 7:00 - 9:00 a.m.
Sunday (14s, 16s, 18s) - Team check-in will be held at the BHSU Young Center Lobby from 7:00 - 9:00 a.m.
All teams must have a coach check the team in during this time. At check-in, coaches will be asked to verify rosters. All information must be completed and turned in by a coach at check-in. Coaches must also turn in participation waivers for each player at this time.
**Please bring your own balls and / or cart! Each team is responsible for having their own balls to use in warm ups and in between matches. BHSU will only provide 1 game ball per court to be used only for game time.
Tickets: $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children / students / seniors.
*All tournament proceeds benefits the Yellow Jacket Volleyball Program.
Concessions / T-Shirt sales will run throughout the tournament.

Please note that due to NCAA rules, BHSU cannot and will not have an athletic trainer on duty. No medical staff will be provided, so please plan accordingly if your team has specific medical needs. We will provide a cooler of ice to be used for injuries only.

This tournament is open to all eligible USAV, JVA, and AAU club teams. BHSU is not affiliated with these organizations; therefore matches will not count toward official statistics or win/loss records.
