Event Description

CAMP IS NOT SOLD OUT, PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE WAIT LIST -
Due to the uncertainty created by the COVID-19 virus we have established a way for you to reserve a spot in camp without any upfront financial commitment. Simply join our FREE Wait List. When camp is confirmed to take place, you will receive an email from us giving you the ability to pay the camp dues. If at the time you still wish to attend camp, you can pay securely online. If your circumstances change and you no longer wish to attend camp, simply let us know. You won’t owe us anything.


**Due to limited space and for the safety of our campers, parents and spectators are not allowed to be in the gym during all camp sessions, including the camp tournament. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation in this matter.**

General Skills Camp

 

General Skills Camp is designed to teach the mechanics of excellent fundamental volleyball skills. The camp will also progress to team and game situations. To meet the needs of each camper, this camp will cater to all skill levels. Each camper will be placed in a group comparable to his or her own skills.

Residence Hall

 

Residence halls have air conditioning. Roommate request must be made at the time of registration and both roommates must register before July 1. We will do our best to accommodate all roommate request but cannot guarantee. Residence Hall rules will be established on the first day of camp. All campers are expected to comply with the rules, regulations and policies of the hall. All rooms are double rooms. No more than two will be assigned to a room. Sheets and towels will be provided to each camper. Normal camp attire is expected in the dining room. Shoes must be worn. Pajamas, robes, slippers, and bathing suits are not suitable attire.

For the security of personal belongings, always keep your room door locked. Please do not bring valuable items or large sums of money. Purdue University and Purdue Volleyball Camps will not accept responsibility for theft or loss of money, valuables or personal belongings. Lost and found items may be claimed my contacting the residence hall within two weeks after the close of camp.

A $35 charge will be assessed for anyone that does not return their key at the end of camp. CHECK OUT TIME FOR ELITE CAMP IS NO LATER THAN 5:30pm ON THE LAST DAY OF CAMP. Parents please arrange with your child ahead of time where and when you will pick them up. Campers who drive to campus MAY NOT use their vehicles during their stay.

Pick–Up and Drop–Off - Commuter

Campers can be dropped off around 8:30am at the assigned gym (campers will be notified of location at registration). For drop off and pick up we suggest parking in the Ross-Ade Stadium Parking lot.

Between camp sessions, commuters are welcome to stay in the lobby of the dorms but there are no planned activities at the dorms. Commuters can be picked up in between sessions and brought back to campus at the start of the next session.

 

First Aid Responders

 

You must bring your own ankle braces to camp. Taping will only be provided if a camper is injured at camp. First aid responders will provide ice and will care for minor wounds and injuries. We will have a Certified Athletic Trainer on site for emergencies and if a phone call is required to the parents.
 

Travel

 

In making your travel plans, please keep in mind that Purdue University is on Eastern Time and does observe Daylight Savings Time.

If you fly into Indianapolis International Airport, you may wish to shuttle to West Lafayette on the Lafayette Limo service. The Shuttles depart from the airport every two hours between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Call (765) 497-3828 for reservations and more information.

If you drive to West Lafayette, please refer to www.purdue.edu/vic. These will help you determine the best routes to campus.


Directions to Campus

 

FROM INDIANAPOLIS

» Take I-65 North to State Road 25 (exit 175).

» Take a left on State Road 25, towards Lafayette, for approximately 1 mile.

» Turn right on Sagamore Parkway. Stay on Sagamore for approximately 2 miles to Yeager Road (fourth stoplight).

» Turn left on Yeager Road.

» Follow ensuing roundabout (approximately 0.25 miles) to Northwestern Avenue.

FROM CHICAGO

» Take I-65 South to State Road 43 (exit 178).

» Turn right off ramp.

» Follow State Road 43 approximately 7 miles to the fourth stoplight (State Road 26 West/State Street).

» Turn right on State Road 26.

» Turn right at second stoplight (Grant Street).

» Follow Grant Street to next stoplight.

» Turn left on Northwestern Avenue. 


Food Allergies

 

If your camper has a food allergy, please list all food allergies under medical conditions. All meals will be served at the Dining Hall on Campus.

Purdue is committed to making all programs accessible to participants with disabilities. If you require auxiliary aids or services because of a disability and you have not yet informed us of your needs, please contact us at 765-494-6252 at least one week before the program begins.


Discounts

 

We offer a $25 per sibling discount in the same online transaction for General Skills, Elite, and Team camp ONLY. No discounts will be applied after a registrant has signed up online.


Refunds

 

You can cancel up to 14 days before the start of the camp. A cancellation fee of $50 will be processed if you cancel at any time. No refunds will be issued 10 days before camp.


Camp Store

 

If you are attending the Elite Camp, General Skills Camp, or Team Camp, we will have a camp store available featuring various items. We only accept cash and checks made payable to Dave Shondell Volleyball Camps, LLC.
